GoFullPage alternatives

GoFullPage is still the simplest way to save a whole page in one click, with a free Basic plan, as PNG, JPEG or a PDF. If it doesn't suit you, pick by what's missing. For PDF, PNG, GIF, JPEG or BMP output, try FireShot. To mark up captures or record a screencast, try Awesome Screenshot. For fast region grabs shared by link, try Lightshot.

What's the best free alternative to GoFullPage?

FireShot. It captures the full page too, and its basic extension is free, with an optional Pro upgrade. The difference is output: it saves PDF, PNG, GIF, JPEG or BMP. Its editor and smart annotations are part of Pro, so check the vendor's current terms. Its extension policy says it stores screenshots locally.

Which GoFullPage alternative lets me edit or blur a screenshot?

Awesome Screenshot lets you annotate a capture after you take it, and FireShot has an editor in its paid Pro version. Lightshot lets you edit a selected area with Pixlr Editor, including blur, but it captures a region, not a full page. GoFullPage's blur and highlight tools are part of its Premium plan.

Which screenshot extension can also record video?

Awesome Screenshot. It captures the full page, a selected area, the visible part or the entire screen, and it can record a screencast when you need video instead of a still. It has a free tier with limits and paid plans, so check the vendor's current limits before you rely on it.

Which alternative keeps screenshots on my device?

FireShot's extension policy says it stores screenshots locally, and GoFullPage's developer says screenshots are stored locally in your browser. Both are the developers' own statements. Lightshot is the one to watch: its Upload feature makes a link anyone with the URL can open, so save to disk or copy to the clipboard for anything private.

Is GoFullPage safe?

No extension is guaranteed safe. GoFullPage's developer says it requests permissions only when needed for a specific function, and that screenshots are stored locally in your browser. We did not read the full current permission list. Its open-source status is not stated on our page. Check the install prompt before you install.

Good to know

  • Full page or region? Lightshot is built for small regions, not whole pages. If you need both, see Lightshot vs GoFullPage.
  • Paid extras. FireShot has a Pro upgrade and Awesome Screenshot has paid plans. GoFullPage has a free Basic plan with an optional Premium. We could not verify Lightshot’s price.
  • From the makers of this site. We are building our own full-page capture tool, FullPageScreenshot. It is free and coming soon to the Chrome Web Store. We left it out of the table above because it isn't on the store yet, and because we built it.
