About Xplorekit
Xplorekit helps you find Chrome extensions worth installing. The site has two parts: a directory of hand-picked extensions from other publishers, and two small, free extensions we build ourselves. Both follow the same idea: plain facts, named sources, no made-up numbers.
Who runs Xplorekit?
Xplorekit is run by an independent developer. It builds its own free Chrome extensions and runs the Extension Directory of third-party picks. The extensions in the directory are not built or maintained by Xplorekit. Directory pages carry the line "Reviewed by Xplorekit's independent developer" and a "Last checked" date, so you can see when each page was last looked at.
What is Xplorekit?
Xplorekit is a privacy-minded guide to Chrome extensions. The Extension Directory groups hand-picked, third-party extensions by use case, from ad blockers and password managers to tab managers, screenshot tools, grammar checkers and translation tools. Each category page compares a small set of picks side by side, with guidance on how to choose.
Every pick is clearly marked as a third-party extension, not built or maintained by Xplorekit. Each one gets its own page: why it is a strong pick, what it does, its key features and who it is for. We link to the official Chrome Web Store listing, so you install from the source. Install and permissions are between you and the extension's own publisher.

Or weigh two tools side by side on our comparison pages.
How are extensions chosen?
Every pick is chosen by hand, using the extension's Chrome Web Store listing and its official website or source code. We check what it does, the main permissions it asks for, whether it needs an account, its price and whether it is open source. It must also be updated in the last 12 months and run on current Chrome.
If we can't confirm a fact a page needs, the pick waits. The full list of checks, and how to run them yourself before you install anything, is on How we choose.
Why doesn't Xplorekit show star ratings?
Because we can't verify them. Store ratings and install counts change all the time, and we can't check where they come from. So we never show ratings, user counts or download numbers, or any other fact we can't confirm. You can still read reviews on each extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
How often is the directory updated?
The directory keeps growing and keeps getting checked. New picks are added regularly, not on a fixed schedule, and each one passes the same checks before it goes live: permissions, account needs, open-source code and recent updates. The newest picks appear near the top of the homepage. Every page shows a "Last checked" date.
We also recheck picks over time. If an extension stops being maintained, we remove it rather than leave an out-of-date recommendation in place.
What extensions does Xplorekit make?
We build small extensions that solve one specific problem, with no bundled toolbars, no bloated feature lists and no premium upsell. Right now there are two, both free. You can find them on the homepage under From the makers of this site.
- Case Converter Tool changes text case and cleans up text. It is free on the Chrome Web Store, needs no account and works entirely offline in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
- FullPageScreenshot captures a whole scrolling page as one image, with a built-in editor. It is free and coming soon to the Chrome Web Store.
Do Xplorekit's own extensions collect data?
No. None of our extensions collect, store or transmit personal data or browsing activity, and none of them connect to third-party services. Each one asks only for the permissions its feature needs, and its page explains them. See the full privacy policy for details.
This website itself uses Google Tag Manager to understand site traffic. That is separate from our extensions, which use no cookies, analytics or tracking.
How can I suggest an extension or report a mistake?
Use the contact page. To suggest an extension, send its name and Chrome Web Store link. To report a mistake, such as an out-of-date fact or an extension that no longer works, send the page link and what is wrong. We fix the page, or remove the pick if it no longer meets our checks.
We read every message and usually reply by email within a couple of days. You can also email us directly at mirzanuman1102@gmail.com.
