Lightshot vs GoFullPage
Pick Lightshot if you grab small parts of a page and want to mark them up and share them fast. Pick GoFullPage if you need the whole page, top to bottom, in one click, saved as an image or a PDF. GoFullPage has a free Basic plan; we could not verify Lightshot’s price. They are not really rivals: one is built for regions, the other for full pages, and many people will want one of each.

Which is better, Lightshot or GoFullPage?
It depends on what you capture. Lightshot is better for grabbing a small part of the screen, adding a quick note and sharing a link in a few clicks. GoFullPage is better for saving an entire page, as PNG, JPEG or a PDF. GoFullPage has a free Basic plan, so match the tool to the job.
If you need a full page and you also want to annotate or blur before saving, look at FireShot or Awesome Screenshot on our screenshot tools page.
Is Lightshot safe?
We can't promise any extension is safe. Its open-source status is not stated on our page. One thing to weigh: when you upload, Lightshot's FAQ says every uploaded image is public and has its own URL that anyone who has the exact link can open. Read its privacy policy before uploading, and save to disk instead for anything private.
Is GoFullPage safe?
No extension is guaranteed safe. GoFullPage’s developer says it requests permissions only when needed for a specific function, and that screenshots are stored locally in your browser. We did not read the full current permission list. Its open-source status is not stated on our page. As always, check the permissions on the Chrome Web Store listing before you install.
Can Lightshot take a full-page screenshot?
Full-page capture is not stated on our Lightshot page. Lightshot is built around region select: you drag to choose exactly the part of the page you want. If you regularly need whole pages, GoFullPage is the better fit. It captures the entire page as you scroll and gives you one image.
Which one can save a screenshot as a PDF?
GoFullPage. You can download a capture as PNG, JPEG or a PDF, per its FAQ. That makes it handy for saving receipts, articles or reference pages. Our Lightshot page does not state PDF export. Lightshot focuses on image captures that you save, copy to the clipboard or share by link.
Good to know
GoFullPage saves the page as it is. Our page does not list editing tools, so if you need to crop, highlight or blur something before saving, you will need a second tool. FireShot’s editor is part of its paid Pro version. Lightshot, on the other hand, only has basic annotations, and its link sharing puts the image online.
