Send what you are reading to your Buffer queue, or save it as an idea for later.

Why it's a strong pick

Buffer made this extension itself, so it fits the Buffer workflow you may already use. It also has a clear habit built in: "Create Post" for things you will schedule now, "Save Idea" for things you will shape later. The trade-off is the free plan. It holds only a small queue, so heavy posters will hit the cap.

What it does

Click the Buffer icon on a page and choose "Create Post" to send the content to the composer, where you schedule it in your queue. Choose "Save Idea" to store it in the Create area of your Buffer account. You can also highlight text, or right-click an image, then choose Buffer.

Key features

  • Create Post. Send the page to the composer and schedule it in your queue.
  • Save Idea. Store it in Create to work on later.
  • Text and image capture. Highlight text or right-click an image, then choose Buffer.
  • Your connected channels. Posts go to the channels connected in your Buffer account.
  • Other browsers. Buffer says the extension also works in Safari, Opera and Edge.

Who it's for

Buffer's extension suits solo creators and small teams who already use Buffer and want to capture posts while they browse. If you do not have a Buffer account, you will need one first.

Do I need a Buffer account to use it?

Yes, it works with your Buffer account. The extension sends content to Buffer's composer and to your ideas, so you cannot schedule anything unless you have one. Buffer has a free plan, and it also has paid plans if you need more room.

What is the difference between Create Post and Save Idea?

Create Post sends the content to the composer so you can schedule it in your queue. Save Idea stores it in the Create area as an idea, and it does not go into the queue until you finish it. Use Save Idea when you are not ready to write the post.

How many posts can I schedule on the free plan?

Buffer has a free plan with limits on channels and on how many posts can wait in each queue. This is a queue cap, not a daily limit, so a slot frees up when a post publishes. Check Buffer's help center for the current limits. Paid plans are priced per channel.

What permissions does it ask for?

We did not read a permission list we could verify. Check the install prompt before you add it. We also could not read the developer's privacy policy when we checked; read it before installing, and see the privacy section on the store listing.

Good to know
