Notion Web Clipper
Made by Notion. Save a web page into a Notion page or database in a few clicks. Notion account needed.
Why it's a strong pick
Notion Web Clipper is made by Notion, and Notion's help page documents the steps: click the icon, pick a workspace and a page or database, then save. A URL property is added automatically for database clips. The trade-off: you set tags and other properties after the clip, inside the database, not in the clipper.
What it does
You log into Notion in your browser with the account you want to clip into. Click the Notion icon next to the address bar, choose a workspace and a page or database, and press "Save page" or Enter. Notion says you can also create a new links database from the Add to menu, or search for a page or database that is not in the default list.
Key features
- Destination picker. Choose the workspace and the page or database for each clip.
- Links database. Create a new links database from the Add to menu, per Notion's help page.
- Automatic URL property. A URL property is added to a database clip.
- Tags and comments. Notion says you can add tags, comments and edits to clipped pages afterwards.
- Several browsers. Notion lists the clipper for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and mobile.
Who it's for
Notion Web Clipper fits people who already work in Notion and want saved pages to land in their own databases. It takes a few clicks, not one. If you want to keep clips as local Markdown, see Obsidian Web Clipper. For annotated screenshots in a hosted account, see Evernote Web Clipper.
How do I edit tags and properties on a Notion clip?
After the clip, inside Notion. Notion's help page says that to edit tags or other database properties, you open the clipped page in the database. The clipper itself only asks for a destination, so plan a short tidy-up step if you sort clips with tags.
Does Notion Web Clipper need a Notion account?
Yes. Log into Notion in your browser with the account you want to clip into. Notion says the clipper is available on all plans, and we found no clipper-specific free plan limit. Notion's free plans have their own limits elsewhere, so check Notion's current pricing page for details.
What permissions does Notion Web Clipper ask for?
We could not read the permission list from the store when we checked. Check the install prompt in Chrome before you add it. A clipper reads the pages you save, so look at what it asks for. Permissions can change between releases.
Does Notion Web Clipper collect data?
We could not read the developer's privacy policy when we checked; read it before installing. Clips are saved to your Notion workspace in the cloud, not to local files, so Notion stores what you clip. You need a Notion account, and you choose the page or database each clip goes into.
