Why it's a strong pick

Vidora, from getvidora.com, recognizes players used by Vimeo, Loom, Wistia and TikTok, plus any standard HLS or DASH stream. It says it saves files in original quality, with no re-encoding and no added watermark. The trade-offs: it offers free use under terms that may change, and its privacy claims come from the vendor.

What it does

Open a page with a video, click the Vidora icon and it looks for the media. When a site offers several resolutions, you pick one. Use it for content you own or have permission to save. It does not remove DRM and it does not work on YouTube.

Key features

  • Named players. It recognizes players used by Vimeo, Loom, Wistia and TikTok.
  • Standard streams. It also handles any standard HLS or DASH stream.
  • Original quality. Vidora says there is no re-encoding and no added watermark.
  • Resolution choice. Pick the resolution when the site offers more than one.
  • Local processing. Vidora says it runs locally and never uploads the videos you save.

Who it's for

Vidora is for people who save video they own or have permission to keep, from Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, TikTok or standard streams, and who like a tool that says it runs locally. If you want the widest site list, Video DownloadHelper lists 1000+ sites.

Is Vidora free?

Vidora offers free use, and the vendor can change the terms later. Check getvidora.com for its current terms and limits before you rely on it. We do not list prices, because they can change. Do not assume the offer will last, and check again before you build a workflow around it.

Does Vidora download DRM-protected or YouTube video?

No. Vidora says it does not remove DRM. It says Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and other protected services are blocked by design. YouTube is not supported, under Chrome Web Store policy. Use it only for content you own or have permission to save, and check each site's terms.

What does Vidora do with my data?

Vidora says it runs locally, never uploads the videos you save and does not sell data. It also says it sends anonymous daily usage counts, with no URLs or titles, and you can switch this off in Options. These are the vendor's statements. We could not check them against the code.

What permissions does it ask for?

Check the install prompt. We could not read the permission list from the developer when we checked. A tool that looks for video on any page usually needs broad page access, so read the prompt and the store listing before you accept.

Good to know

The vendor also publishes "best of" lists on its own site, so treat its comparisons as marketing. Judge it by what it does on pages you are allowed to save from. For more picks see our video downloaders guide and best Chrome extensions for privacy.
