Floccus. It syncs the bookmarks already in your browser across Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave and Vivaldi, plus a mobile app for Android and iOS. You choose the backend, such as Nextcloud, WebDAV, Google Drive, Dropbox or a Git server. It does not host bookmarks itself.
Linkwarden. Its extension saves the current page to your Linkwarden collections, uploads a screenshot of the page and can save all tabs in a window. You need a Linkwarden server or account to log in to. It is licensed AGPL-3.0 in the Linkwarden repo.
Only for some. Floccus needs a backend, which can be a cloud account or a server. Karakeep is self-hostable and needs a server. Linkwarden needs a server or a hosted account. linkding and ArchiveBox each need a server you run. Wallabagger needs a wallabag server, your own or hosted. Your own server gives control, and means upkeep.
Yes, in one case. Floccus lists Linkwarden and Karakeep among its sync backends. That lets you keep native browser bookmarks in step with those services. We have not tested this setup, so try it with a small folder first. Check that both services are set up and reachable before you start syncing.
Floccus's privacy policy says its authors and publisher do not receive your data, while the sync service you pick will see your bookmarks. For Linkwarden, Karakeep, linkding, Wallabagger and ArchiveBox, we could not read the developer's privacy policy when we checked; read it before installing. All six send data to a server or service you choose.
linkding. Type the keyword ld in the address bar to search your bookmarks, and press Alt+Shift+L to save the current tab. It needs a linkding server you run. The extension is open source under the MIT license, and its Chrome build is on the repository’s chrome branch.
ArchiveBox. It sends tabs, or URLs that match patterns you set, to your own ArchiveBox server for offline preservation, and needs that server. Its cookie sync sends login cookies you choose to your server, so leave it off unless you trust it. For a read-it-later list, Wallabagger saves the page you are on to a wallabag server.
Pick where your bookmarks will live before you pick an extension. A bookmark in a server you forget to update or back up can be lost. Keep an export of your bookmarks somewhere separate, whichever tool you use.
These are third-party extensions, not built or maintained by Xplorekit. We link to each official Chrome Web Store listing — install and permissions are entirely between you and the extension's own publisher.
